J.J. Redick shot the lights out and helped lead the Clippers to 106-102 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers yesterday. The Clippers have struggled to find their groove early on this season.  J.J. had been cold from the field, but yesterday was a completely different story.

The Clippers were coming off an embarrassing defeat against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. To read the recap of that game click here.

J.J. Redick who scored 30 points yesterday afternoon had this to say about the game, according to ESPN.com:

“I’m a positive person and my glass is always half-full,” Redick said. “I knew I would start making some shots. I never got too discouraged, but frustrated for sure.”

Redick shot 11/13 from the field including two, three pointers in the victory. Also, for the Clippers Chris Paul had a big game. Paul scored 22 points and also dished out 11 assists. Jamal Crawford started for the Clippers in place of Matt Barnes, and he chipped in 20 points. Blake Griffin did his usual damage, and collected 23 points as well.

Doc Rivers told ESPN.com about situation that displayed Griffin’s will to win:

“I thought I was [dead],” said Griffin, who felt nauseous. “It wasn’t too bad until I started running up and down.”Clippers coach Doc Rivers tried to take Griffin out, and he refused.

For the Trail Blazers, all five starters reached double figures. Damian Lillard lead the way with 25 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds. LaMarcus Aldridge chipped in 21 points, and Robin Lopez added 19 for the Blazers.

The big difference in this game was the offensive execution of the Clippers. While the Blazers turned the ball over 16 times, the Clippers only coughed it up 7. This lead to Clippers scoring 20 points off turnovers to only 5 points for the Blazers. With the win the Clippers improve to 4-2 on the season, while the Blazers fall to 3-3.

The Clippers will take on the San Antonio Spurs in Los Angeles tomorrow night.
