For your afternoon reading pleasure, let’s dive into the news surrounding the Los Angeles Kings.
The Edmonton Oilers stunned the LA Kings as they hurt the defending champions’ playoff chances with a 4-2 victory:
“After a scoreless first period, Matt Fraser scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Martin Marincin and Anton Lander. With the Kings in the hole, Jake Muzzin scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty. With the game tied Benoit Pouliotscored a wrist shot to give the Oilers a 2-1 lead heading into the third period.
In the third period Tyler Pitlick scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Oscar Klefbom. This gave the Oilers a 3-1 lead with 15 minutes left in the game. Doughty scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Martin Jones to put the Kings within one.
With less than a minute left the Kings pulled their goalie and Fraser scored an empty net goal that was assisted by Nail Yakupov to give the Oilers the win 4-2.”

The Vancouver Canucks snapped the LA Kings win streak tonight with a 2-1 victory in a shootout:
“Dwight King scored the only goal for the LA Kings tonight. His goal same within the first two minutes fr the game with a wrist shot past Eddie Lack. His goal was assisted by Jeff Carter and Tyler Toffoli. With the early goal there were high hopes the Kings would carry this momentum the rest of the way.
After a second period that sported no goals, Daniel Sedin scored a slap shot goal that tied the game at 1-1. His goal was assisted by Henrik Sedin and Alexander Edler. Neither team was able to score a tie break and they headed into overtime in Vancouver.
In overtime neither scored and they headed to shootouts where the LA Kings have struggled all season. After a few saves from Jonathan Quick, Carter and Anze Kopitar were unable to capitalize.”
