Wesley Matthews Powers Trail Blazers Past Clippers 119-114

It may only be the preseason but Wesley Matthews’ jump shot doesn’t know that. Matthews scored 22 points while hitting six of seven shots from behind the arch in last night’s matchup. The Blazers shot a staggering 17 for 25 from three point land as the pushed past the Clippers 119-114.

New Clippers owner Steve Ballmer was in attendance for the second game of the preseason. Not to be outdone by Matthews performance, Jamal Crawford had a game of his own. Crawford ended up with 23 points, as he shot six for seven from deep as well.

Chris Paul added 15 points for the Clips, while Blake Griffin struggled from the field. Griffin shot just 4-16 in the game, and recorded five fouls in his 25 minutes of play.

Newcomer Spencer Hawes chipped in 15 points as well for the Clips. For the Trail Blazers Damian Lillard missed his second game in a row, due to a strained left foot injury.

Both teams had no problem scoring the ball last night. The Clippers put up 40 points in the 4th quarter but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
