Dodgers Tab Farhan Zaidi As GM

The Los Angeles Dodgers have completed their front office revamp, as they have hire Farhan Zaidi at their new general manager.
The Dodgers began their hiring with Andrew Friedman who had made a name for himself in Tampa. They now end the process with Zaidi who worked his way up the ranks in Oakland. To read more about the Friedman hiring click here.
Farhan Zaidi is 37 years old and has spent the last nine years with the Oakland Athletics. Through the years he had become one of Billy Beane’s most trusted advisors accoriding to Baxter Holmes of ESPN.com Before taking the job in LA, Zaidi was the assiant gerneral manager and the director of baseball operations.
Zaidi is known around the league as one of the smartest people in baseball. He earned his bachelors degree from MIT, and went on to earn a PHD in economics from CAL.
Farhan Zaidi was a major contributor in the A’s acquiring slugger Yoenis Cespedes. As the Dodgers look to win their first World Series since 1988 Zaidi said he will look at the structure of other teams around the league. He is quoted on ESPN to look specifically at the rival San Francisco Giants.
“I think any time a team has that kind of success, you really have to study them hard and see what lessons there are to learn,” said Zaidi, who was introduced as the team’s new GM on Friday at Dodger Stadium. “I’m sure that’s something we’ll look at. It’s a fair question. I don’t think you can have win three World Series in five years just by being lucky. I think that’s maybe stating the obvious.”
The Dodgers have made some major changes since the end of the season and look likes they have made a great hire with Zaidi. It will be very interesting to see what the Dodgers do this offseason. One thing is for certain, they’ll be making headlines somehow some way. \
