Mike Trout starting off the season with a solo bomb but that was the start and end of the Halos offense on Opening Day. Felix Hernandez was well King Felix and the Mariners beat the Angels 1-0 in game one of the season.
In the second game of the series C.J. Wilson will get the start for the Angels. Wilson is coming off his worst season of his career where he sported a 13-10 record with a 4.51 ERA. He’ll look to get off on the right track this year as last year was his highest ERA as a full-time starter.
Wilson did look good in the Spring as he posted a 2.31 ERA in the Spring and Angels’ fans look for him to bring that form to the regular season.
For Seattle James Paxton will get the start. Last year Paxton sported a 6-4 record in 13 starts. He had a 3.04 ERA but struggled with injuries. Speaking of struggling Paxton did struggle this Spring but will look to get back on track now that the regular season has begun.
Seth Smith with 3 for 3 in the Mariners win yesterday but has had their struggles against Wilson over his career. Robinson Cano had a RBI on Opening Day and Nelson Cruz went hitless. Look for Wilson to be careful around those two tonight.
Although Trout provided the only run of the game, he did strikeout three times in the loss.
