LA Kings Overwhelm Oilers, Win 8-2

The Los Angeles Kings were too much for the Edmonton Oilers to handle as the Kings won 8-2 on Thursday night. After a tough loss to the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this week the LA Kings looked to regroup at the Staples Center.

Dustin Brown got the party started early when he scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Trevor Lewis and Jarret Stoll. Marian Gaborik scored a wrist shot goal of his own that was assisted by Anze Kopitar and Justin Williams. Shortly after Drew Doughty put a wrist shot through the net that was assisted by Kopitar and Jake Muzzin. The Kings went to the locker room up 3-0.

In the second period Teddy Purcell put the Oilers on the board. He scored a tip-in shot that was assisted by Justin Schultz. Jordan Nolan answered right back for the LA Kings. His goal was assisted by Kyle Clifford. Jeff Carter got in on the action. He scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Gaborik and Doughty that gave the defending championship a 5-1 lead heading into the third period.

Robyn Regehr started the final period with a slap shot goal. Gaborik scored once again on a assist from Williams. Carter added a backhanded goal that was assisted by Dwight King and Tyler Toffoli.

Jordan Eberle scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Taylor Hall and Oscar Klefbom as the Kings beat the Oilers 8-2.

The LA Kings were in control the whole night and both Ben Scrivens and Tyler Bunz will have to put this game behind them for the Oilers. Neither of them had an answer for the Kings offense.

Jonathan Quick was needed much tonight as he had a huge cushion thanks to the early offense.

The LA Kings will look to build off this win when they take on the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night at home.
