In Week 9 the San Diego Chargers fell to the Miami Dolphins.

“Both sides of the ball, offense and defense, struggled in multiple different areas. The offense would turnover the ball too much (4) while having a total offensive day of just 178 yards. When the running game was not working, the Chargers went to the passing game which only resulted in minimal gains and multiple turnovers mainly focused around quarterback, Philip Rivers.

On the other side, the Chargers’ defense gave up a whopping 37 points while allowing a total of 441 yards of offense. Not to mention, the Chargers were unable to force any turnovers off the Dolphins and were unable to pressure quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, as the Charger defense would account for 0 sacks for the day.

The game, itself, would actually start off slow with the Dolphins getting their first score with just over a minute left in the quarter on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Tannehill to tight end, Charles Clay.”

CaliSports News elected the SuperCharger MVP of the game and this week we picked Chris Davis!

“On defense, no one really stood out except for linebacker Andrew Gachkar, who recorded 5 tackles but had 3 tackles for a loss which signified Gachkar’s ability to penetrate the backfield and make a play on multiple occasions.

When choosing the SuperCharger MVP of the week, though, we have to look outside of offense and defense and, instead, on special teams. Kick return-man, Chris Davis, had a very nice game getting the Chargers descent field position to start their drives even though the Chargers still could not move the ball down the field and get any sort of points.”
