Hollywood Blvd. News – San Diego Padres Edition

We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the San Diego Padres.

Another sunny afternoon in Glendale, Arizona and a great day for a Cactus League matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres:

“The boys in blue, royal blue that is, lead the league with a 12-6 record. The Padres are a full 3 games behind with a record off 11-11. With the countdown to opening day winding down, and these two teams meeting on that day, we can see both rosters finalizing themselves. Just 11 more days until this matchup has official post season implications, however immature they may be.

Fortunately for the Dodgers, their young core showed up ready to play and Yasiel Puig got it going early. The home run, and subsequent bat flip, were an absolute beauty to behold. As seem above, Puig blasted that HR. I wouldn’t be surprised if he knocked the laces off that ball.”

We’re at that point in Spring Training where everyone gets a little testy from watching so much exhibition baseball while knowing there’s so much more to go:

“Can’t these guys just get started already? We’re ready for games that matter and big leaguers playing all nine innings! Sure, Spring Training is nearing its end, but it isn’t quite there, and we’re still stuck watching #96 pitch to #89 with #92 catching and #87 in right field. Ahhh, the glory of the Cactus League.

Anyways, why not have a little fun in the mean time? I’ll start us off with some outlandish predictions for the Padres. Have fun with these; they aren’t guarantees or oh-so-super-serioussports pundit predictions.”
