The Los Angeles Kings were able to pull out another win tonight as they beat the New York Islanders 3-2 on the road.
The game went goal less for the first period which was quite the change from their last game which started with a bang. A bang of the puck in the Kings net. It was a full house Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and Kings fans were ready for a good game.
The first goal of the game came in the second period from New York Islanders’ Frans Nielsen with an assist from Nikolay Kulemin and Travis Hamonic. The Kings first goal came from first time scorer Nick Shore after an assist from Dustin Brown and Alec Martinez. The score sat at 1-1.
Drew Doughty faced a penalty of 2 minutes for interference of Cal Clutterbuck in 14:58 of the second.
A shorthanded Tyler Toffoli scored his 22 goal after assists from Jeff Carter, and Jake Muzzin putting the score at 2-1. Islanders evened the game with a goal from Johnny Boychuk, but the Kings had one more answer for them.
With 15:37 left, Anze Kopitar, with assists from Andrej Sekera and Alec Martinez, scored his 16th goal and brought a win home for the Kings! The game ended 3-2!
Up next the Kings will play the Minnesota Wild on the road, on Saturday!
