For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Another sunny afternoon in Glendale, Arizona and a great day for a Cactus League matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres:
“There’s been added tension to this already strained rivalry, with the Dodgers losing superstar outfielder Matt Kemp to the other NL team in Southern California. With that being said the Dodgers certainly didn’t take this matchup lightly.
The boys in blue, royal blue that is, lead the league with a 12-6 record. The Padres are a full 3 games behind with a record off 11-11. With the countdown to opening day winding down, and these two teams meeting on that day, we can see both rosters finalizing themselves. Just 11 more days until this matchup has official post season implications, however immature they may be.
Fortunately for the Dodgers, their young core showed up ready to play and Yasiel Puig got it going early.”

According to Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com the Los Angeles Dodgers have reached an agreement with Cuban Star Hector Olivera:
“The Dodgers and Padres had entered a bidding war for Olivera’s services but the Dodgers came out on top in the end. Reports surfaced a few weeks ago that the Miami Marlins offered Olivera a 53 million dollar deal but backed off after hearing the Dodgers major offer.
Jon Heyman of CBSsports reported the huge signing bonus Olivera will receive
With Olivera and Corey Seager in the infield mixed with up and coming Joc Pederson the Dodgers look to be positioning themselves for deep playoff runs for years to come. “
