According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Erik Bedard will miss 4-6 weeks due to a back strain.
Erik Bedard expected to miss four to six weeks with strain of the same back muscle that shelved Clayton Kershaw for five weeks last year.

The Dodgers signed Bedard to a minor league contract back in January and poised to try and make the major league roster.
Last season Erik Bedard was with the Tampa Bay Rays. He posted a 4-6 record with a 4.76 ERA. With news that Hyun-jin Ryu would be missing time for an injury as well, this only adds to the Dodgers depth problem in the starting rotation.
Injuries are nothing new for Erik Bedard, as he as struggled with numerous injuries throughout his career. Bedard is support to serve as an insurance policy in case any of the Dodgers starting pitching ran into injury, but it looks like its going to be up to someone else to provide that depth.
