Jeremy Lin was magnificent in the Los Angeles Lakers 101-87 victory tonight. The Lakers and Lin have had very little to smile about this season but Lin will look back on tonight’s game as one as his strongest in the purple and gold.
Lin poured in 29 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists of the bench. Say what you want about the competition the Lakers faced tonight but record wise the Lakers much better than the lowly Sixers.
In addition to Lin’s strong game four other Lakers reached double figures. Jabari Brown, Wayne Ellington, and Wesley Johnson each scored 10 points. Jordan Hill scored 12 points to go along with 8 rebounds, and Ed Davis added 8 points and 11 rebounds of the bench.
Lin was 10/16 from the field as his magic helped the Lakers ran away in the fourth quarter. For the Sixers they had four players reach double figures. Hollis Thompson had 10, Robert Covington had 11, and Thomas Robinson scored 14 off the bench for Philly.
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute scored 13 as well. The Lakers out rebounded Philly 52-39 in the victory they also held the Sixers to just 38% from the field.
Tonight’s game helped snap a four game losing streak. The Lakers will travel to Oklahoma City on Tuesday night to take on Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. Kevin Durant has been shut down and it is unknown when he will return. This game can serve as a trap game for the Thunder as the Lakers are the far interior team.
