The Los Angeles Kings have recalled 10 year veteran, Mike Richards, from the AHL. He has been off of the team for two months and is returning just in time for the Kings five game road trip. The trip consists of games against the New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Minnesota Wild and Chicago Blackhawks.
Richards coud prove to be the integral piece of the Kings postseason livelihood as they are currently two points behind the Calgary Flames for the Pacific Division
According to CBSSports.com. Richards hasn’t played since March 8, but has been in Los Angeles undergoing physical testing and training. If he can overcome health issues, he could bring leadership and be a “solid checking line forward” that can provide scoring depth.
CBSSports.com reports, “last season, Richards put up 41 points over 82 games and had 10 points during the Kings’ Stanley Cup run. His experience certainly could bring value, but his performance will have to be a lot better than it was at the start of the season to make any difference for the scuffling Kings.”
