Nash the former two-time MVP is most known for his glory days with the Phoenix Suns and Mike D’Antoni. He was brought to LA to form a “Super Team” when the Lakers signed him in 2012. That summer the Lakers signed Steve Nash and traded for Dwight Howard in the hopes of winning an NBA championship. Nash, Howard, Kobe Bryant, and Pau Gasol never were able to be a healthy unit and the championship aspirations folded.
Steve Nash announced his retirement on his official Twitter.

Nash is one of the most respected and loved players in the NBA. He was never able to win a NBA title but that doesn’t take anything away from his illustrious career.
He retires as the third most assist man in NBA history behind only John Stockton and Jason Kidd. Nash will go down as one of the great point guard in NBA history. His combination of deception and basketball IQ made up for his lack of athleticism that many of his competition possessed.
Nash had been trying to battle back to play this last season in LA but dealt with various injuries in his back. Although he was never able to give the Lakers what he wanted to on the floor his professional and dedication to trying to back on the court is unmatched.
Nash is a future first ballot Hall of Famer no questions asked. Congratulations Steve Nash on a Hall of Fame-esque!
