Jonathan Quick & Kings Shutout Coyotes 1-0

Jonathan Quick and the Los Angeles Kings shutout the Arizona Coyotes 1-0 tonight to earn Quick his sixth shutout of the year. The Kings were coming off a tough loss to the Nashville Predators where they blew a 1-0 lead in the third period. Tonight was a better ending for the defending champions who are fighting for their playoff lives.

It was a defensive game tonight not one that many fans could get excited for as only one goal was scored. In the first period the Kings would take 10 shots on goal against Yotes goaltender Mike Smith but nothing would come out of it .

In the second period it was Andy Andreoff who scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Jordan Nolan and Brayden McNabb. This was Andreoff’s first goal of the season and his career and will go down as a game winner to make matters even better.

The Yotes have struggled for most of this season and this loss cannot be pinned on Smith. He made 34 saves tonight as the Kings could not capitalize on multiple opportunities.

Quick made 25 saves in the shutout. Drew Doughty lead the Kings with 4 shot on goal but nothing to show for it.

The Kings will take on their southern California rivals on Wednesday when they travel to the pond and take on the Anaheim Ducks.
