Kings Blank Red Wings; Streak Hits 8

The Los Angeles Kings blanked the Detroit Red Wings 1-0 tonight to extend their winning streak to 8 in a row. It is an exciting time to watch the Kings as they are stringing together wins after taking a lot of criticism earlier in the year.

While the Kings were coming off of a big win in the Stadium Series against the San Jose Sharks they put that in the ast and focused on the task at hand. Earlier in the day reports surfaced that Jordan Nolan received a three-year extension with the club.

Tonight it would only take one goal to win. Justin Williams scored a tip-in shot that was assisted by Anze Kopitar and Jake Muzzin.  This early goal had fans thinking they were in for a high scoring affair but both goaltender had other plans.

Jonathan Quick made 20 saves tonight and recorded his fourth shutout on the year. For the Red Wings Jonas Gustavsson made 27 saves but it was not enough for the victory.

The Kings did outshot the Red Wings 27-20 tonight. Marian Gaborik and Tyler Toffoli each had four shots on goal.

Up next the Kings will take on the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night. Our own Jeff Duarte and his wife will be attendance all the way from Ontario, Canada!
