The Memphis Grizzlies used a big fourth quarter to rally back and beat the Los Angeles Clippers 90-87 tonight. Tonight’s loss snapped the Clippers four game winning streak. In their last game they were able to cruise by the Sacramento Kings with ease.
Chris Paul was the main attraction tonight. He scored 30 points to go along with 10 assists on 13/21 shooting. DeAndre Jordan continued his strong play in Blake Griffin‘s absence. He scored just 9 points but added 17 rebounds.
Jamal Crawford off the bench chipped in 15 points. It was a tough night for him however as he was just 4/15 from the field. J.J. Redick also struggled shooting going just 3/12.
For Memphis, Mike Conley lead the team in scoring with 18 points. Jeff Green chipped in 16, while Zach Randolph had a night that he’ll want to forget as he scored just 7 points shooting 2/12 from the field. He did grab 10 rebounds tonight.
Tony Allen scored 10 points of the bench. For a game that was tightly contested most of the night the fourth quarter is what killed the Clippers. They found themselves down by eight points with just 2:28 left in the game and it was just too much for the Clippers to comeback from.
The Grizzlies dominated the paint tonight scoring 40 of their 90 points down there. The Clippers were not so fortunate to get easy buckets as they scored just 26 paint points.
Even with Randolph struggling the Grizz were still able to control the paint area. This is something that Clippers fans will need to weary of as they move towards the playoffs.
Up next for the Clippers they will take on James Harden and the Houston Rockets in Houston on Wednesday night.
