Kings Score 3 In 2nd Period, Beat Colorado 4-1
- Updated: February 18, 2015
The Los Angeles Kings extended their winning streak to six in a row tonight beating the Colorado Avalanche 4-1. I’ll say it again the Kings are playing their best hockey of the season. In their last game they beat the Lightning at home 3-2.
Tonight the Kings found themselves in an early hole. Gabriel Landeskog scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Nathan Mackinnon. This gave the Avalanche a 1-0 advantage. The Avalanche outshot the Kings 12 -7 in the first period.
In the second period it was all about the Kings. Jeff Carter scored a tip-in shot that was assisted by Tyler Toffoli and Dwight King. Toffoli would then scored a goal of his own a backhand shot that as assisted by Trevor Lewis and Drew Doughty.
To cap off the amazing second period Dustin Brown scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Doughty and Anze Kopitar.
The goal flurry in the second was too much for the Avalanche to handle. Jeff Carter added an empty net goal to end the game a final 4-1.
Jonathan Quick had a monster game tonight with 43 saves.
With the win the Kings increase the streak to six. Up next for the Kings they take on the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. Let’s get this streak to 7!
