Rams Remain Undefeated at Sofi

In Inglewood California on Sunday afternoon, the Rams hosted the Seattle Seahawks. This was the fourth home game for the Rams this season. In those four games, the Rams have won all four, outscoring their opponents 80-52. After 9 games this season, the Rams are tied for the best record in the NFC West. Currently, the Rams, Seahawks, and Cardinals all have the same record, sitting at 6-3. With the Rams win over Seattle, Los Angeles owns the tiebreaker against the Seahawks. However, due to the Cardinals having a better divisional record, Arizona owns the tiebreaker against the Rams.

As for the game itself, the Rams responded well after their loss to the Dolphins two weeks ago. Los Angeles’s defense caused the opposition some serious problems. One of those problems, led to Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson throwing two interceptions, both caught by cornerback Darious Williams. Another contributor to the Rams defense was cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Due to the lock down defense from Ramsey, Seahawks top receiver DK Metcalf was on;y targeted four times.

As for the offense, they produced 23 points. The Rams dominated time of possession, having the ball for over thirty three minutes. As a result, Los Angeles would also go to own more passing yards, yards per play, first downs, and a higher third down conversion percentage. Quarterback Jared Goff finished the game with an extremely efficient 96.9 passer rating. On the ground, running backs Darrell Henderson, and Malcolm Brown averaged four or more yards throughout the game.

Comparatively, the 6-3 record the Rams have right is one game better than their record after nine games last season. Two years ago, during their run at the Super Bowl, Los Angeles was sitting at 8-1. While under Sean McVay in his first season a few years, the Rams posted a 7-2 record after nine games. While the Rams are in second place, they currently have a 78% chance at making the playoffs. With seven games left on the schedule, Los Angeles should be able to advance if they can manage four more wins.

In the upcoming seven games, four of those will be against the division. The other three games will feature the Buccaneers, Patriots, and Jets. The Buccaneers, who also currently have a 6-3 record, are up next for the Rams. As for the Jets and Patriots, they are a combined 4-14 this season. The division games will prove to be more of a challenge for Los Angeles due to the Seahawks, Cardinals, and 49ers sitting at a combined 16-12.  Fortunately for the Rams, four of the remaining seven games will be played at Sofi Stadium. Sofi so good.
