Chris Paul Calls Out Referee; Will Likely Face Fine
- Updated: February 6, 2015
Chris Paul was very frustrated in the way the game was called last night which ended with the Los Angeles Clippers receiving five technical fouls. Matt Barnes was ejected in the third quarter, and Paul picked up one of his own that he strongly disagreed with. The Clippers did not have their best performance last night but they added technical fouls is what bothered Paul.
Arash Markazi of ESPN.com spoke to Chris Paul about the situation.
Chris Paul was critical of the technical he got, saying he was trying to inbound the ball quickly but Lauren Holtkamp wouldn’t let him.

Markazi also reported.
CP3: “We try to get the ball out fast down the court and when we did that she said, ‘uh-uh.’ I said, ‘Why, uh-uh?’ And she gave me a tech.”

Paul was very adiminant about the techincal foul and continued his critisms.
CP3: “I don’t care what nobody says, I don’t care what she says; that’s terrible. There’s no way that can be a tech.”

He took it a step further saying that this industry might not be for her.
Chris Paul on Lauren Holtkamp’s technical on him: “That’s ridiculous. If that’s the case, this might not be for her.”

Paul is the President of the Players Association so it will be interesting to see how the NBA handles his criticism of the ref. With Barnes ejected last night it pushes his total to 11 technicals this year which is an league leading number.
The Clippers are back at it tonight as they take on the Toronto Raptors.
