The Los Angeles Lakers behind LeBron James 11th triple-double of the season beat the Sacramento Kings 129-113.
The Los Angeles Lakers returned to the court on Friday night, after Kobe Bryant’s death with a very emotional tribute to the late superstar who passed away last Sunday in California. The team was introduced wearing Bryant’s number 8 and 24 jerseys.
In this game, the Lakers started the game on fire, 44 points in the first quarter. The Kings outscored the Lakers in the second 42-37 but still trailed at the half 81-64. In the third quarter, the Kings managed to edge out the Lakers with a 25-23 but the fourth quarter edge went to the Lakers as they were able to hold for the win.
LeBron ended the game with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in 34 minutes. Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 21 points and an impressive 10 for 10 from the free-throw line. De’Aaron Fox led all scorers with 24 points and his teammate Buddy Hield came off the bench for the Kings with 22 points.
Next up for the Lakers will be a Tuesday night affair with the San Antonio Spurs at the Staples Center. Over the past five games, the Lakers are 3-2 ending a two-game slide and the Spurs are 2-3, winning their past two games against the Charlette Hornets and the Utah Jazz.
