Chargers: Gordon Will Play Against Miami
- Updated: October 1, 2019
After a 64-day holdout, due to a contract-related issue, Melvin Gordon returns to the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday afternoon.
Head Coach Anthony Lynn and the Chargers brass welcomed back the All-Pro running back as he was activated Saturday afternoon for this week’s game against the Miami Dolphins. Austin Ekeler should see a heavy workload as the team will work Gordon back into game shape. Justin Johnson will be sidelined this week due to injury.
Los Angeles ranks 13 in the NFL in rushing and with the addition of Gordon improves the team’s offensive chances.
Gordon was seeking a contract extension that could pay him the salary that is equal to the top running backs in the league, such as Bell, Gurley, and Elliot.
The Chargers has suffered several injuries during the first three games of the new season and with the return of Gordon, the team gets a very needed added boost.
