The Los Angeles Kings will take on the Washington Capitals tonight in Washington. The Kings who were at the White House yesterday celebrating their Stanley Cup last season, are hoping that the visit with the President will give them some life heading down the stretch.
In the Kings last game they fell to the Boston Bruins 3-1. Tonight’s matchup will be one of focused on Capitals star Alex Ovechkin. Ovechkin is currently tied for the NHL lead in goals scored at 31. He has scored nine goals in his last seven games and Kings will need to focus on trying to limit his production.
As the Capitals have been scoring at a rapid pace, they are also giving up goals at a extreme rate as well. They have given up four goals in five of their last seven games. Fans who like high scoring games this may be the game for you!
Kings forward Dustin Brown spoke to the team’s official website about the team’s current playoff situation.
“We look at the standings every day,” forward Dustin Brown told the team’s official website. “If you’re not, then I don’t know what’s wrong with you. But again, there is nothing we can do about it tonight. It’s about getting focused for Washington.”
Tonight is an important game for the Kings as they will need to collect the two points to improve on their playoff situation.
