LA Chargers Fall To Detroit Lions, 13-10
- Updated: September 19, 2019
The Los Angeles Chargers failed to capitalize on several mistakes by the Detriot Lions, resulting in a 13-10 loss.
Mike Williams played the game of his life, which included a remarkable 47-yard pass from Philip Rivers, to set up a 39-yard field goal from Ty Long to give the Chargers a four-point halftime lead.
Williams only had three receptions for 83 yards. Keenan Allen led the team with 98 yards on eight catches. Austin Ekeler was stellar once again as the team’s number one running back. Ekeler scored the first touchdown of the game and gained 66 yards on 17 carries.
Despite the two interceptions by Matthew Stafford and Lions Cornerback Darius Slay getting burnt on several plays, the Lions managed to get past the heavenly favorite Chargers.
Los Angeles (1-1) will head home to face the Houston Texans (1-1). Houston escaped with a one-point victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, 13-12.
If they are able to bounce back it will set them up for a good stretch of games where they can look to get some momentum.
