2015 Pro-Football Hall Of Fame Class Official – Junior Seau Leads
- Updated: February 1, 2015
It was announced today who the Class of 2015 for the Pro-Football Hall of Fame consists of. San Diego Chargers rejoice, our beloved legend Junior Seau leads all votes.
Junior Seau played in the league for 20 years; something no other defender has been able to accomplish. He has 56.5 sacks to his name, 18 interceptions, and three forced fumbles with the San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots. Seau is a six-time All-Pro linebacker and he helped lead the Chargers to their lone Super Bowl appearance in 1994.
His welcoming into the Pro-Football Hall Of Fame is a great accomplishment for him and his family, but also reminds us of the awful stigma that follows football for players who have retired; concussions, sore muscles etc.
Seau’s son spoke to the media folowing the announcement of his induction. His son told USAToday.com:
“This is a huge honor for our family,” Seau’s son, Tyler, said fighting off tears. “It’s definitely with a heavy heart to accept this because it should be him. He should be here. He is here. Emotionally, it’s tough. We’re missing a huge part, but we’re staying strong. This is a blessing and we’re humbled to be a part of this family.”
Seau is also joined by Jerome Bettis, Tim Brown, Charles Haley and Will Shields. Congratulations to not only Junior Seau, but also all of the other inductees!
