We like to start our day searching the web and reading articles about our beloved LA sports teams. It’s easy to get lost in the depth of the inter web, but luckily for you we have compiled a list of the most interesting and pertinent news stories for your morning reading pleasure. For this edition, let’s dive into the news surrounding the LA Galaxy.

Robbie Keane is excited for the arrival of Steven Gerrard:

“Robbie Keane arrived to the LA Galaxy’s preseason camp and Steven Gerrard was the topic of discussion with the media.

Expected to arrive midway through the MLS season, Stevie G is already creating anticipation and excitement. As a player who used to play against Gerrard, Keane said this to the media:

“He’s one of [the best midfielders I’ve played with], he and Roy Keane, I would say, definitely would be up there,” Keane said following his first training session of the year at StubHub Center. “His ability to make players around him even better [will be] a big thing when he comes. Players will see how good he is and how simple he makes things. … He’s certainly going to be a huge help to this team.″

The LA Galaxy boss told the media he has no intention of retiring:

“The gaffa had knee replacement surgery last month and is still in the recovery process. So much so, that he utilized the perks of being the man in charge to drive a golf cart over to the regularly scheduled media session.

Last season he signed a multi-year extension deal but the surgery and it’s recovery period put thoughts of retirement into Bruce Arena’s mind.

As reported by the LA Galaxy official website,

“When I had the surgery I thought about it a little bit,” he told reporters. “You always think about whether you have the energy to continue doing what you need to do. Once I come to a conclusion that I can keep doing it I do it.”
