Rams win NFC West
- Updated: December 5, 2018
Los Angeles California can celebrate once again. The Rams have won the NFC West for the second time in as many years. The NFC West was won after the Rams traveled to Detroit, and beat the Lions 30-16. However, there is more work to be done. The Rams must earn home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Currently, the Rams are the best team in the NFC with a record of 11-1. If the Rams can win out for the remainder of the season, they will have home-field advantage until the Super Bowl.
One of the reasons why Los Angeles is a 11-1 is because they have three legitimate MVP candidates. It is no secret Los Angeles has one of the best rosters in the league, and they come to form both offense and defense. First up, is quarterback Jared Goff. So far this season Goff has completed over 66% of his passes. Goff also has 27 touchdown passes to only 7 interceptions.
The second candidate is running back Todd Gurley. Gurley is on pace to rush for over 300 yards and has 300 rushing touchdowns this season. Gurley has also played as a hybrid this season, as he has over 450 receiving yards, and 4 touchdown receptions.
As for the Los Angeles defense, the MVP representative is Aaron Donald. On the season, Donald has 16.5 sacks. The Los Angeles defense has struggled at times this year, however, Donald has been a constant anchor. All three players should get serious consideration for MVP if they have not already. With four games left, the Rams are just getting started.
