Introduction To Ducks Fan Alex Haro

Ducks

I would like to simply start off by introducing myself. My name is Alejandro Antonio Haro, but you can call me Alex. I am a native of Anaheim, CA. I currently reside in Garden Grove, CA. I have always lived 20 minutes away from the Honda Center, Edison International Field (Angel Stadium), Disneyland, etc., so I am as local as they come.

Here is a little background information on myself. Like I said I was born in Anaheim, CA and grew up here as well. I went to a Catholic School as a young boy where sports was highly encouraged. So if my mom could sign me up for the sport she would. I have to admit it, I was very lucky as a kid. I played football and basketball for my school. I also played Little League baseball for a short time. Soccer was probably one of my favorite sports to play just because I was better at it than others.

As for my hockey background, it all started with Wayne Gretzky. Just watching him was amazing. Truly a sight to behold. I would beg my Mom to let me play but my school did not have a hockey program. My Mom, being a single Mother with two children, simply could not afford it so the other sports had to do. Many years went by then a film by Disney came out, “The Mighty Ducks”. It was an instant hit to my little heart. It opened up hockey to me in a new way. You can say it even got to my mom, she instantly fell in love too.

Shortly after the first Mighty Ducks movie, Disney went forth to invest into a team in Anaheim. So now with a new team in Anaheim, they started to give back to the community right away. Still, with not enough money to put me into a league, we watched the second movie be made. I remember my mom getting a letter in the mail asking residents to fill the newly built Arrowhead Pond for the second installment, “The Mighty Ducks’ movie, “D2”. This made my passion to play hockey grow even more. Soon after, we were introduced to the G.O.A.L.S. organization. They made it possible for low-income families to experience the sport- which I was lucky enough to be a part of. Ever since then my love for hockey has grown I am forever grateful to The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim franchise for making it possible for me to play hockey for that unforgettable couple of years.

With the Anaheim Ducks franchise making a historical team and giving back to the community, it has been an honor to experience. With all the ups and downs I will continue to be a DIE HARD DUCKS FAN! And always will be. I am looking forward to bringing the best up to date news on the Anaheim Ducks. LET’S GO DUCKS!
