Lakers Fall In OT To Spurs 143-142

The Los Angeles Lakers fell to 0-3 on the season in another close one as they lost to the San Antonio Spurs 143-142 in overtime.

Los Angeles was without starters Brandon Ingram and Rajon Rondo due to suspensions. Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma got the start.

LeBron James led the Lakers with 32 points, 14 assists, and 8 rebounds. Ball chipped in 14 while Kyle Kuzma poured in 37 points to go along with 8 rebounds. JaVale McGee added 16 and Josh Hart recorded a double-double off the bench with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

On the other side, LaMarcus Aldridge had 37 points and 10 rebounds. DeMar DeRozan added 32 points and 14 assists. Bryan Forbes and Rudy Gay chipped in 16 points, while Marco Belinelli added 15 off the bench.

Patty Mills hit the shot of the night that won the game for the Spurs and had 12 points. Lakers head coach Luke Walton was not happy about the way the game was officiated. Los Angeles went to the line 26 times compared to the Spurs 38 times.

Los Angeles shot just 69% from the line and recorded 15 turnovers. James missed two crucial free throws that could have sealed the win for the club.
