Butler requested a trade from the Timberwolves in September that seemed to shock the Minnesota front office. Reports surfaced from numerous sports writers that Butler’s preferred destination is Los Angeles and not the Lakers.
Butler spent most of his career with the Chicago Bulls and Tom Thibedou and was traded to Minnesota last summer. Butler has not gotten along well with All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns and swingman Andrew Wiggins and with Butler set to become a free agent at the end of the year the Wolves could risk losing him for nothing.
Haynes reported in his article that the Wolves are interested in Tobias Harris. However, Jerry West and the Clippers are not including Harris in the deal. You can read the full Haynes article here.
