Kings Host Sharks For Home Opener

The Los Angeles Kings will open up their season hosting the San Jose Sharks at the Staples Center on Friday night. The Sharks are coming off a 5-2 defeat to the Anaheim Ducks earlier in the week.

Los Angeles will begin the year without one of their leaders Dustin Brown. Brown scored 28 goals last year for the club suffered a broken finger injury in the last preseason and is out indefinitely.

Former Los Angeles King goalie Martin Jones struggled in the first game of the year for the Sharks. He made just 10 saves on 14 shots in the loss.

Many people have predicted that the Sharks will win the Pacific Divison this season. They went out and made the biggest splash when they added Erik Karlsson to the fold.

Joe Thornton made his return to the ice for San Jose on Wednesday. He had been out since early January due to a knee injury which required arthroscopic surgery.

Fans can tune in and watch the game on FOX Sports West, or listen to the game at the NHL App. The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m. PST
