- Updated: September 17, 2018
The Los Angeles Chargers got back to winning after a very impressive win over the Buffalo Bills, 31-20. A big day for the second year wide receiver Mike Williams who caught his first NFL career touchdown pass in the first quarter on a 10-yard pass to open the scoring for the Chargers.
The Melvin Gordon Show premiered for the first time this season. Gordon scored three times in the first half to lead the Chargers attack, that superior over their week two opponent. Gordon’s first score was a 20-yard run to cap off a six-play drive to give the Chargers a two-touchdown first quarter
advantage.
The second quarter belonged to Gordon, catching two touchdown passes from Philip Rivers to extend the lead at the half to 28-6. The Bolts only added a Caleb Sturges field goal with only 3:50 left in the game. Austin Ekeler led the ground game gaining 77 yards on 11 carries.
BOLT NOTES:
The Chargers defense gave rookie Quarterback Josh Allen his welcome to the NFL experience. Kyzir White and Adrian Phillips picked off the rookie in his first career start. Allen was also sacked five times.
NEXT UP FOR THE CHARGERS:
The Bolts (1-1) will face off against their cross-town rival the Los Angeles Rams (2-0). This will be the first meeting between the two teams since both they both came to Los Angeles. The Rams are led by running back Todd Gurley III and an amazing defense that completely shut down the Arizona Cardinals, 34-0. This will be one of the hardest games this season for the Bolts.
