Christian Villanueva Headed To DL
- Updated: August 24, 2018
The Padres announced infielder Christian Villanueva would be placed on the disabled list after he fractured his right middle finger. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when Villanueva took a hard grounder off his hand. As a result of heading to the disabled list, Villanueva’s season might be over. The estimated return time for a fractured finger is anywhere from three to four weeks. If Villanueva can return from his injury, he would come back for the last week of the season. Ultimately, the Padres will have to determine what to do with Villanueva in the offseason. The Padres have quite a bit of moves to make in the offseason, expect them to make a number of moves in the future.
AJ Cassevell of MLB.com reported the news via Twitter.
