Clippers Lou Williams Wins Sixth Man Of The Year
- Updated: June 25, 2018
As if there was any doubt Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams was given the NBA’s sixth man of the year award at the 2018 NBA Awards that took place Monday evening.
Williams was far and away the best candidate for this award. Averaging a career-high 22.6 points, 5.3 assists and 32.8 minutes per game off the bench. He was so good off the bench, he had an argument to be an All-Star this season.
One of Williams most memorable nights of the season came against the rival Golden State Warriors, when Williams put up a remarkable 50 points, while knocking in 8 threes and notching 7 assists.

This is Williams’ second sixth man of the year award, having won it in 2014-15 for his spectacular season with the Toronto Raptors.
Clippers fans have gotten a little spoiled with scorers off the bench as of late. Jamal Crawford won this award twice while playing for Los Angeles, making him the first ever player to win it three times in his career. This is the Clippers third sixth man of the year award winner in the last 5 seasons.
Clippers fans should be thrilled that Williams signed on this season for a three year extension for a team friendly $24 million dollars.
Congratulations to Lou Williams and the Clippers organization for continuing their excellence off the bench!
