Haniger’s Walk-Off Beats Angels

Mitch Haniger hit a walk-off home run to beat the Los Angeles Angels 8-6 on Wednesday night.

Garrett Richards got the start for the Halos. He pitched 2 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs. He walked 0 and struck out 2 as he picked up the no-decision.

Marco Gonzales got the start on the other side. Gonzales pitched 5 innings allowing 7 hits and 3 runs. He walked 2 and struck out 7. He was awarded a no-decision.

Ben Gamel got the offense started with an RBI single that brought in Denard Span. Mike Zunino followed with an RBI double that brought in Ryon Healy and gave the Mariners a 2-0 lead.

Mike Trout got the Halos on the board with an RBI single that brought in Ian Kinsler. Nelson Cruz hit a 2-run shot in the bottom of the third that brought in Haniger and the Mariners pushed the lead to 4-1.

David Fletcher hit a 2-run triple that brought in Martin Maldonado and Chris Young to cut the lead to 4-3. Luis Valbuena hit a sacrifice fly that brought in Young and tied the game at 4-4.

Nolan Fontana hit a solo shot in the 7th inning to give the Angels a 5-4 advantage. Young hit a solo shot of his own later in the inning.

Jean Segura doubled to right center that cut the lead. Healy hit a solo shot in the 8th to tie the score. Haniger ended the game with a 2-run shot to left and Angels fell by a score of  8-6.
