Angels Top Twins 2-1

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim topped the Minnesota Twins 2-1 on Saturday night. Anaheim improved their record to 37-28 on the year.
Tyler Skaggs got the start. He pitched 7 innings allowing 5 hits and 1 run. He struck out 8 batters and walked 1 as he picked up his 5th win of the year.
On the side, Kyle Gibson got the start. He pitched 7 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 runs. He walked 2 and struck out 5 as he picked up his 4th loss of the year.
The offense got started in the 3rd inning when Ian Kinsler hit a solo shot to left field. Albert Pujols hit a solo shot of his own in the 6th inning that put the Angels up 2-0.
Max Kepler grounded into a double-play that brought in Robbie Grossman and cut the lead to 2-1.
Blake Parker came on in the 9th inning and shut the club down with 1 strikeout and picked up his 7th save of the year.
Anaheim will take on the Twins today at 11:10 a.m. in Minnesota.
