Bedard who turns 36 in March has been in the league for 11 years. He has spent time with the Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, Houston Astros, and Tampa Bay Rays.
Last season with the Rays he posted a 4-6 record with a 4.76 ERA making 17 appearances. Bedard was a workhorse early in his career with the Orioles as he showed extreme upside. However, the injury bug bit him hard and has struggled to stay healthy over the course of his career.
Bedard has a career record of 71-82 with a 3.99 ERA. The Dodgers will give him a chance to prove himself in the minors, and it is a long shot for him to make the major league roster.
