According to Bill Oram of the Southern California News Group, the Los Angeles Lakers will honor Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor with a statue on April 6th outside of Staples Center.
Elgin Baylor will be honored with a statue at Staples on April 6. “I don’t know how I’m going to react or anything once I see it,” he tells @ocregister, “because nothing like that has ever happened before.” Announcement from Lakers expected later today. https://t.co/ifgnuHrB2P

Serena Winters of LakersNation shared her thoughts on the news.
This is awesome. As time passes, it seems that Elgin Baylor is talked about less & less amongst the Laker greats. The statue will always serve as a reminder! #Lakershttps://t.co/vv5WVgAfHK

Baylor spent his entire 14-year career with the Lakers being named an All-Star 11 times, and an All-NBA First teamer 10 times. He holds career averages of 27.4 points and 13.5 rebounds per game.
He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1977 and was one of the pioneers of basketball in the 60’s. His statue will join other Laker greats outside of Staples Center as it should be.
