Padres Sign Chris Young To Minor-League Deal

According to Dennis Lin of the San Deigo Union-Tribune, the San Diego Padres have signed Chris Young to a minor league deal.
Source: The Padres also are bringing back veteran right-hander Chris Young on a minor league deal. Like Tyson Ross, he’ll compete for a rotation job.

Lin reported further information on the deal.
For those worried the Padres are taking shortcuts again: They could head to spring training without signing a starting pitcher to a major league deal. They would very much like to sign Eric Hosmer, but the question continues to be the price.

Young has spent time with the Texas Rangers, Padres, New York Mets, Seattle Mariners, and Kansas City Royals throughtout his career. Last season with the Royals he posted a 7.50 ERA in 14 games.
