LA Galaxy Send Marcelo Sarvas To Colorado Rapids

The LA Galaxy have sent Marcelo Sarvas to the Colorado Rapids in exchange for the third allocation spot and allocation money.
Sarvas played with the Galaxy for since 2011. The 33 year-old made 88 appearances, scoring 19 goals and 9 assists. He was apart of the winning teams that won the MLS Cup in 2012, and 2014. Prior to his time in LA, the Brazillian played for Liga Deportiva Alajuelense.
The LA Galaxy released the following statement regarding the midfielder and his contributions to the club:
“We thank Marcelo for all of his contributions to our team over the past three seasons,” Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena said in a statement. “We wish Marcelo the best of luck in Colorado.”
Colorado Rapids head coach Pablo Mastroeni also spoke to MLS.com about the acquisition.
“He is an experienced pro, he’s a winner, he’s a competitior, and he puts the team before himself,” Mastroeni said. “We need someone that can guide these guys and I think he’s one of those players that we looked to acquire.”
Mastroeni added, “Marcelo fits the mold for the kind of player I like in the midfield.”
