Kings Fall To Yotes In Overtime 3-2

The Los Angeles Kings used a Trevor Lewis third period goal to force overtime but fell to the Arizona Coyotes 3-2 on Friday night. Even though Los Angeles didn’t leave empty handed they have lost three in a row and seven out of the last eight.
The offense got started in the first period when Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Christian Fischer and Derek Stepan. This gave the Coyotes an early 1-0 lead.
In the second period, Anze Kopitar got the Kings on the board. He scored a tip-in shot that was assisted by Marian Gaborik and Jake Muzzin and the game was tied at 1-1. Later in the period, Brendan Perlini scored a slap shot goal that gave the Yotes the lead again. His goal was assisted by Alex Goligoski and Tobias Rieder.
Lewis scored a backhanded goal early in the third period that tied the score a 2-2. Andy Andreoff and Drew Doughty were credited with the assists. Fischer scored the game-winning goal in overtime, a backhanded shot that was assisted by Christian Dvorak and Jason Demers.
Los Angeles will take on the Anaheim Ducks and the Staples Center tonight at 7:00 p.m. PST
