Turner Lifts Dodgers In Game 1

Justin Turner drove in 5 runs and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-5 on Friday night to win game one of the series.
Clayton Kershaw got the start. He pitched 6.1 innings allowing 5 hits and 4 runs. He walked 3 and struck out 7 allowing 4 solo home runs and picked up his first win of the postseason.
On the other side, Taijuan Walker got the start. He pitched 1 inning allowing 4 hits and 4 runs. He walked 2 and struck out 3 as he picked up the loss.
The offense got started in the first inning when Justin Turner hit a solo shot to left center that brought in Chris Taylor and Corey Seager. Yasiel Puig followed with a RBI double that brought in Cody Bellinger and Dodgers led 4-0 after 1.
In the 3rd inning AJ. Pollock hit a solo home run to get the D’Backs on the board. Seager followed with a RBI single to left center that brought in Logan Forsythe. Turner followed with a RBI single and Puig followed with a RBI groundout and Los Angeles held a 7-1 advantage.
J.D. Martinez hit a solo home run in the 6th inning. Ketel Marte and Jeff Mathis each hit solo shots in the 7th to cut the lead to 7-4.
Seager hit a RBI triple that brought in Austin Barnes, and Turner added with his 5th RBI of the game with another single. Jake Lamb reached on a fielder’s choice in the 9th and the Dodgers went on to win 9-5.
The two clubs will continue their series tonight at Dodger Stadium.
