Kings Host Flyers On Opening Night

The Los Angeles Kings will host the Philadelphia Flyers at the Staples Center tonight on NBCSN. Los Angeles is looking to bounce back after missing the postseason last year for the second time in three years.

Los Angeles had a very active offseason for the front office. Dean Lombardi and Darryl Sutter are out and Luc Robitaille and Rob Blake have taken over the front office and John Stevens has been promoted to head coach.

This will be Stevens second stint as a head coach as he was the head coach of the Flyers from 2006-2010. Alex Martinez will start the year on the IR. He is dealing with a lower-body injury.

Jon Rosen of lakingsinsider.com confirmed the news.

The Flyers opened up the season with a 5-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks. Wayne Simmonds recorded a hat trick in the first game of the season.

Fans can tune it and watch the game at 7:00 p.m. PST
