Austin Rivers Will Not Play Tonight

According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers will not play tonight against the Toronto Raptors due to a strained right glute.

Rivers got nicked up in the Clippers preseason game against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night. Rivers got the start along newcomer Patrick Beverly with the new look Clippers.

Rivers will take on the starting shooting guard responsibilities after flourishing that last few years with the Clippers. Last season Rivers played in 74 games and started in 29 games. He averaged 28 minutes per game and shot a career-high 44 percent from the field.

Rivers also shot a career-high 37 percent from behind the arch as well as career highs in points per game: 12, and 2.8 assists. Los Angeles will most likely start newcomer Lou Williams tonight.
