Angels Fall To White Sox 5-4

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim blew a three-run lead and loss to the Chicago White Sox 5-4 on Thursday night. Anaheim has been eliminated from AL Wild Card contention.

Bud Norris got the start for Anaheim. He pitched 3 innings allowing 2 hits and 0 runs. He walked 2 and struck out 4 as he picked up the no-decision.

On the other side, Dylan Covey got the start. He pitched 5.2 innings allowing 4 hits and 4 runs. He walked 2 and struck out 5 as he was awarded the no-decision as well.

The offense got started in the 5th inning. Eric Young hit a RBI double that brought in Kaleb Cowart. Carlos Perez followed with a 2-run home run and the Angels led 3-0.

Yolmer Sanchez answered back with a 2-run single that brought in Rymer Liriano and Adam Engel. C.J. Cron hit a sac fly in the 6th inning that brought in Cliff Pennington and pushed the lead to 4-2.

Chicago made their move in the 8th inning. Rob Brantly hit a 2-run shot that brought in Avisail Garcia. Liriano followed with a RBI single that brought in Tim Anderson and the White Sox took control.

Juan Minaya came on in the 9th inning and picked up his 8th save of the year.
