Richard is a former 8th round pick of the Chicago White Sox in the 2005 MLB draft. He has spent time with the White Sox, Padres, and Chicago Cubs.
This year with the club Richard has posted a 7-14 record with a 4.52 ERA. Richard has started in 30 games and has allowed 225 hits so far this season.
Richard is 33-years old and strongly believes the club will be able to turn things around sooner rather than later. San Diego has been working to rebuild over the last few seasons.
