Seattle Drops Angels 8-1

The Seattle Mariners dropped the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 8-1 on Saturday night. With the loss the Angels find themselves in an even closer AL Wild Card race.

For the Halos Andrew Heaney got the start. He lasted just 2.1 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 runs. He walked 2 and struck out 3 as he picked up his 2nd los of the year.

On the other side Andrew Albers got the start. He pitched 6 innings allowing 4 hits and 0 runs. He walked 1 and struck out 4 as he picked up his 4th win of the year.

The offense got started in the 1st inning when Mitch Haniger hit a solo shot to left field. Robinson Cano hit a RBI double in third inning that gave the Mariners a 2-0 lead.

In the 4th inning Jean Segura reached on an infield single that brought in Guillermo Heredia. Carlos Ruiz scored on a passed ball and Cano hit another RBI single later in the inning. Nelson Cruz capped things off with a 3-run bomb that gave Seattle a 8-0 advantage.

It was Eric Young that got the Halos on the board when he hit RBI single that brought in C.J. Cron. Anaheim fell by a score of 8-1.
