Rockies Hand Dodgers 9th Loss In a Row

The Colorado Rockies handed the Los Angeles Dodgers their 9th loss in a row on Saturday night by a score of 6-5. This is the worst losing streak for the club since 1992.
Chad Bettis got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 runs, 3 of them earned. Bettis allowed 0 walks and struck out 5 as he picked up his 1st win of the year.
For Los Angeles Alex Wood got the start. He pitched 5 innings allowing 8 hits and 5 runs. He walked 3 and struck out 2 as he picked up his 3rd loss of the year.
The offense got started in the 2nd inning. Trevor Story hit a 2-run home run that brought in Gerardo Parra. Charlie Blackmon hit a RBI single that brought in Ian Desmond. Nolan Arenado followed with a RBI single and the Rockies led 4-0.
In the 5th inning Justin Turner got the Dodgers on the board. He hit an RBI single that brought in Chris Taylor. Yasiel Puig followed with a RBI double that brought in Turner and Cody Bellinger and the Dodgers trimmed the lea d to 4-3.
Story hit a RBI double in the 5th inning to extend the lead 5-3. Andre Ethier hit a solo homer in the bottom half of the inning to cut the lead to 5-4.
Parra hit a RBI single in the 9th inning, and Logan Forsythe hit a solo shot but Los Angeles was unable to overcome the deficit and fell 6-5.
