Angels Acquire Brandon Phillips From Braves

According to Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angels Angels of Anaheim have acquired infielder Brandon Phillips from the Atlanta Braves.
I can confirm @mlbbowman’s report that the Angels are sending 29-year-old triple-A catcher Tony Sanchez to Atlanta for Brandon Phillips.

Moura reported further information on the news.
Phillips, 36, played only third in August, but fits at second in Anaheim. He waived a no-trade clause and gets a $500,000 assignment bonus.

Mark Bowman of MLB.com spoke to Phillips about the move.

The 36-year old veteran has spent time with the Cleveland Indians,Cincinanti Reds, and Braves throughout his strong career. Phillips is a 3-time All-Star, a Silver Slugger award winner, and 4-time Gold Glove award winner.
So far with Atlanta this year Philips is batting .291 with 27 doubles, 11 home runs and 52 RBI’s.
