Lakers Fined $500K For Violating Anti-Tampering Rules

Lakers

According to Marc Spears of ESPN.com, the National Basketball Association has fined the Los Angeles Lakers $500K for violating anti-tampering rules.

Shams Charina of the Vertical also reported the news.

The club released a statement via their website.

For Los Angeles the penalty could have been much worst as they are lucky to have gotten off with just a 500,000 dollar fine. Some of the penalties could have included loss of a draft pick as well as the right to pursue George next summer when he is expected to become an unrestricted free agent.

George was eventually traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder where he will team up with Russell Westbrook next season.
